What is The Princeton Hot Seat?

The Princeton Hot Seat is a new recurring photo blog to highlight the transient nature of the rowing community in the Princeton, New Jersey area.  It's open to anyone directly involved with the sport of rowing that comes to Princeton on rowing "business".  Could be rowers, coxswains, coaches, boatmen, officials, etc.

How does the Hot Seat Work?

Each subject gets four questions to answer, the first of which is simply, why are you here (in Princeton)?  Then the subject randomly draws the remaining three from a pool of pre-determined questions, of which half are rowing related, half are not...and can be pretty random.  They get one pass.

On the Hot Seat today is the stroke of the Wisconsin Lightweight Women's Varsity 8+, Megan Oechsel.

Princeton Hot Seat - Why are you in Princeton?

Megan Oechsel - I am here to race in the IRA National Championship regatta.

PHS - If you could see a band or singer in concert, who would you see and why?

MO - Beyoncé.  I think she's inspirational and puts a lot of passion in to her music.  She's not one of those one hit artists, she creates these albums that are very impressive.

PHS - What's your favorite body of water that you've rowed on?

MO - I love rowing on Lake Natoma in California.  I rowed for Marin, and we rowed there all the time and it's by far my favorite course.

PHS - What actress would you want to play you in a movie about your life?

MO - Melissa McCarthy from Bridesmaids because she's one of my favorite actresses.  She just does and says whatever she wants in all of the movies she's in and it's so funny!
